Plans built on what clients really spend.
For financial planners. Clients connect their own banks, cards and loans from your request, so you start each plan from their real income, spending and debts, and see it change between reviews. Your advisor workspace is free.
Arrive at the first meeting knowing the numbers
Send the request when a client books. By the meeting their transactions are in, sorted by category, with balances and loan amounts beside them, and nobody has typed a figure into a fact find.
A dashboard in the client's workspace shows where the money went, budget against actual and which account paid, and a feed keeps your own planning sheet current.
Keep the plan current between reviews
Accounts keep syncing after the plan is written, so each review starts from this month's balances and spending. Savings, cards, loans and brokerage accounts at other institutions sit in the same view.
How a client connects
- 1You add a client from your client list and send the request by email, or copy its link and send it through your own email, text or practice software.
- 2Your client opens it and enters the code we email to them, so a forwarded link is no use to anyone else.
- 3They confirm they are happy to share with you, then connect on their bank’s usual consent screen.
- 4Their banks appear in your client list. Each request shows whether it was sent, opened, verified, connected or has stalled, and you can send a reminder.
Free for you, and the client pays by default
Your advisor workspace is free on every plan, Free included, with unlimited clients. The client list, portfolio health, client requests and advisor access cost nothing.
By default each client keeps their own workspace on Starter ($5 a month for 1 bank) or Standard ($7 a month for 5 banks) and shares it with you. They see their own banks and can add a feed or an export without you, so what they pay for stays theirs.
On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover a client instead, from your plan's bank quota. Your client list marks each client “Client pays” or “You cover”. Banks you connect for your own practice need a plan of their own. See plans
Requests come from you
A request arrives from “Your name via BankSync”. Until you verify your practice, clients see your email address. Once you verify, they see your practice's name and logo on the request and the sharing step.
An unverified advisor can have 10 open requests at a time, and a verified one 100. A client can share with up to 3 advisors, and either side can stop sharing at any time.
Your activity stays private. BankSync shows no rankings, badges or client counts for advisors anywhere.
Questions
What data do I get for each client?
Transactions, balances, cards and loans from their banks, and holdings and trades from brokerages where the institution provides them. Transactions arrive with merchant and category.
How do I collect bank statements from clients before a first meeting?
Send a request when the client books. They connect their banks once from your link, so their recent spending is already in your list when you meet, and it keeps updating afterwards.
Can I use my own planning spreadsheet?
Yes. A feed writes a client’s transactions and balances into Google Sheets, Excel, Notion or Airtable on a schedule, into the columns your template already uses.
Can an AI agent summarise a client’s spending?
Yes. Claude or ChatGPT can read a client’s workspace over the BankSync MCP server, with the access the client gave you.
How fresh is the data?
Hourly, daily or weekly depending on the client’s plan, plus a manual sync before a meeting.
What does a client pay?
By default they keep their own workspace on Starter ($5 a month for 1 bank) or Standard ($7 a month for 5 banks) and share it with you. It is theirs to keep, with their own banks and budgets. On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover them from your own bank quota instead.
Can a client stop sharing?
Yes, at any time, and so can you. The client keeps their workspace and its data. Access is read-only at the bank, and the client can also revoke it there.
BankSync for Advisors covers bookkeepers, fractional CFOs and advisers too.
