Every client's bank data, in your client list.

BankSync for Advisors is free. Ask a client for access from one email or a link you send yourself; they connect their own bank, and their accounts appear in your client list, ready for your spreadsheet, BI tool or AI.

Clients

How a client connects

  1. 1You add a client from your client list and send the request by email, or copy its link and send it through your own email, text or practice software.
  2. 2Your client opens it and enters the code we email to them, so a forwarded link is no use to anyone else.
  3. 3They confirm they are happy to share with you, then connect on their bank’s usual consent screen.
  4. 4Their banks appear in your client list. Each request shows whether it was sent, opened, verified, connected or has stalled, and you can send a reminder.

Free for you, and the client pays by default

Your advisor workspace is free on every plan, Free included, with unlimited clients. The client list, portfolio health, client requests and advisor access cost nothing.

By default each client keeps their own workspace on Starter ($5 a month for 1 bank) or Standard ($7 a month for 5 banks) and shares it with you. They see their own banks and can add a feed or an export without you, so what they pay for stays theirs.

On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover a client instead, from your plan's bank quota. Your client list marks each client “Client pays” or “You cover”. Banks you connect for your own practice need a plan of their own. See plans

Requests come from you

A request arrives from “Your name via BankSync”. Until you verify your practice, clients see your email address. Once you verify, they see your practice's name and logo on the request and the sharing step.

An unverified advisor can have 10 open requests at a time, and a verified one 100. A client can share with up to 3 advisors, and either side can stop sharing at any time.

Your activity stays private. BankSync shows no rankings, badges or client counts for advisors anywhere.

Work where you already work

In a client's workspace you work with the role they give you, editor or viewer. Send their transactions, balances and holdings to Google Sheets, Excel, Notion or Airtable on a schedule, or ask Claude or ChatGPT about them over MCP.

It suits practices whose clients keep no ledger, and work that lives in spreadsheets, a BI tool or an AI agent. If your clients already use Xero or QuickBooks, it sits beside them.

Questions

What is BankSync for Advisors?

A client list inside your BankSync workspace for bookkeepers, accountants, financial planners, fractional CFOs and advisers. You ask a client for their bank data, they connect their own bank, and you work with their transactions, balances and holdings beside every other client. It is free on every plan.

Is this a client portal?

It does the job people look for in a client portal: your client connects their own bank from a link and you see the data, without either of you handling statements or passwords. Each client keeps their own workspace and shares it with you, or you cover them from your plan.

How do I collect bank statements from clients?

Ask for the bank connection instead. Your client connects their bank once through open banking and their transactions keep arriving, with dates, amounts, merchants and balances, so there is nothing to re-key each month.

Does my client need a password or an account?

No. They open your request, enter the code we email to them, confirm they are happy to share with you and connect on their bank’s usual consent screen, on any device. They can come back by the same link while the request is open, and reminders go out after 3 and 7 days and the day before your deadline.

Who pays?

The client, by default: they keep their own workspace on Starter ($5 a month for 1 bank) or Standard ($7 a month for 5 banks) and share it with you. On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover a client from your plan’s bank quota instead. Your advisor workspace is free either way.

Do I need a paid plan to use it?

No. The client list, portfolio health, client requests and advisor access are free on every plan, including Free, with no limit on clients. You need a paid plan only to connect banks of your own or to cover clients.

Can I hand a client I cover over to them?

Yes. Offer it from the client’s Access tab. Your client chooses a plan and pays as themselves, every bank, feed and table stays with no reconnect, and you keep working in it.

What happens when sharing stops?

Either side can stop at any time. Your staff lose access straight away and the client keeps their workspace and its data. A client can share with up to 3 advisors at once.

Which of my staff can see which clients?

Owners and admins work on every client. Team access on your client list chooses which other staff work on which clients, and removing someone from your workspace removes their access to every client straight away.

Can I read every client from the API or an AI agent?

Yes, for clients you cover. With one API key from your workspace, `scope=family` on `/v1/banks`, `/v1/feeds` or `/v1/integrations` returns data across them, and the MCP server gives Claude or ChatGPT the same view. In a workspace a client shares with you, work with the role they gave you.

Which regions are supported?

The US and Canada (Plaid), Australia (CDR via Fiskil, ADRBNK000246), the UK (Open Banking via Salt Edge) and Europe (PSD2 via Salt Edge). Each client connects through their own region’s provider and your list shows them all.

How secure is it?

BankSync never stores banking credentials. Clients grant read-only access on their bank’s own consent screen and can revoke it there. Each client workspace has its own tokens, members and audit trail.

Can clients find me on BankSync?

Verified advisors can list their practice in the BankSync directory, where people contact them through a protected form. The directory is ordered by verification, region and services, and never shows how many clients you have.
