Holdings, trades and cash across every client.
For financial advisers. Clients connect their brokerages, retirement accounts and banks from your request, held-away accounts included, and you see positions and cash for each of them before every review. Your advisor workspace is free.
The accounts you don’t custody
A client's 401(k), IRA, HSA and the brokerage account they opened years ago sit with other custodians. They connect each one from your request, and its holdings, trades and balances arrive beside the assets you manage.
Review prep from this morning’s positions
With a daily sync, holdings, balances, trades and cash refresh each morning. A feed writes them into your review template in Sheets or Notion, where drift, concentration and cash drag are a formula away, and Claude or ChatGPT can read them over MCP.
How a client connects
- 1You add a client from your client list and send the request by email, or copy its link and send it through your own email, text or practice software.
- 2Your client opens it and enters the code we email to them, so a forwarded link is no use to anyone else.
- 3They confirm they are happy to share with you, then connect on their bank’s usual consent screen.
- 4Their banks appear in your client list. Each request shows whether it was sent, opened, verified, connected or has stalled, and you can send a reminder.
Free for you, and the client pays by default
Your advisor workspace is free on every plan, Free included, with unlimited clients. The client list, portfolio health, client requests and advisor access cost nothing.
By default each client keeps their own workspace on Starter ($5 a month for 1 bank) or Standard ($7 a month for 5 banks) and shares it with you. They see their own banks and can add a feed or an export without you, so what they pay for stays theirs.
On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover a client instead, from your plan's bank quota. Your client list marks each client “Client pays” or “You cover”. Banks you connect for your own practice need a plan of their own. See plans
Requests come from you
A request arrives from “Your name via BankSync”. Until you verify your practice, clients see your email address. Once you verify, they see your practice's name and logo on the request and the sharing step.
An unverified advisor can have 10 open requests at a time, and a verified one 100. A client can share with up to 3 advisors, and either side can stop sharing at any time.
Your activity stays private. BankSync shows no rankings, badges or client counts for advisors anywhere.
Questions
Which brokerages are supported?
Schwab, Fidelity, Vanguard, E*TRADE, Interactive Brokers, Robinhood, Webull, Wealthfront, Betterment, M1 Finance and SoFi Invest, among others. In Australia, CommSec, SelfWealth, Stake and Pearler through CDR; UK brokerages through open banking.
Can I see held-away accounts such as a 401(k), IRA or HSA?
Yes. The client connects each account from their own workspace, so held-away accounts sit beside the assets you manage.
How is this different from Orion, Black Diamond, Tamarac or Morningstar Office?
Those are reporting and billing platforms. BankSync supplies raw holdings, trades, balances and cash to Sheets, Notion, Excel or your reporting tool through the API, so it feeds the tools you already use.
Is access auditable?
Access is read-only and every consent is logged at the open-banking provider. Each client workspace records member changes, connections and reauthorisations. BankSync never stores credentials, and clients can revoke access from their broker.
How fresh is the holdings data?
Most brokerages publish end-of-day positions, so a daily morning sync usually matches. Hourly runs are available on eligible plans.
Can I generate performance reports?
BankSync supplies positions, trades, balances and cost basis where available, and you build the report in Sheets, Excel or your reporting tool. Time-weighted and money-weighted returns are not calculated.
Does it handle several currencies?
Yes. Holdings and balances keep their native currency, and you apply exchange rates in your own tool.
What does a client pay?
By default they keep their own workspace on Starter ($5 a month for 1 bank) or Standard ($7 a month for 5 banks) and share it with you. On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover them from your own bank quota instead. Your advisor workspace is free.
BankSync for Advisors covers bookkeepers, planners and fractional CFOs too.
