BankSync for Advisors is for anyone who works with other people's bank data: financial advisors, financial planners, fractional CFOs, bookkeepers and accountants. It suits practices whose clients have no ledger, and practices that work in spreadsheets, BI tools or AI agents.
If you were looking for a client portal, or a way to collect bank statements from clients, this is it: your client connects their own bank once, and their data reaches you from then on.
Free on every plan#
Every workspace gets the advisor features, on every plan including Free:
- a client list with unlimited clients;
- the health of each client's bank connections;
- client requests, to ask a client for their bank data and answers;
- advisor access, so your staff can work in the workspaces clients share with you.
Your own banks still need a plan of their own. Free includes no bank connections.
How a client connects#
- You add a client from Clients and send them a request. You can also copy the request link and send it through your own email, text or practice software.
- Your client gets an email from you, shown as "Jane Smith via BankSync". They enter the code we email them, which confirms they are happy to share with you.
- They connect on their bank's usual consent screen.
- Their banks appear in your client list.
See Ask a client for bank data and answers for every step.
Who pays#
By default the client pays. They keep their own workspace on their own plan and share it with you. On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover a client from your own bank quota instead. See Who pays for a client.
Trust#
- Until you verify your practice, clients see your email address on every request. Once verified, they see your practice name with your domain, for example "Smith Bookkeeping (smithbooks.com)".
- An advisor who is verified or on a paid plan (active or trialing) can have 100 requests open at once and send 200 request emails a day. Otherwise the limits are 10 and 20.
- If a client reports a request as unexpected or as phishing, it is withdrawn and its link stops working. An unverified advisor with 2 reported requests in 30 days can't send requests until they verify.
- Either side can stop sharing at any time.
- A client can share their workspace with up to 3 advisors.
Verify your practice by adding a DNS TXT record to your domain, or by opening a link sent to an address at your domain.
Your activity stays private#
BankSync never shows how many clients you have, and there are no public rankings, tiers or badges. Where the advisor directory is available, it lists verified advisors ordered by verification, then region and services.
