Who pays for a client

The client pays by default, on their own plan. On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover a client from your own bank quota instead.

Your advisor workspace is free on every plan, with unlimited clients. What costs money is a client's bank connections, and each client shows who pays for them: Client pays or You cover.

Client pays (the default)#

The client keeps their own BankSync workspace on their own plan:

PlanPrice per monthBank connections
Starter$51
Standard$75

The workspace is theirs. They see their own banks and can set up a feed or an export without you, and they share it with you so your staff can work in it. Their banks never use your plan, and they never take one of your seats. Either of you can stop sharing at any time.

A client who already has a BankSync workspace can share it with you from their own settings. See Share your workspace with your advisor.

You cover#

On Professional, Business or Enterprise you can cover a client instead. BankSync creates a workspace for them under yours, and:

  • every bank they connect counts against your plan's bank quota, which pools across your own workspace and every client you cover;
  • there is no charge per client, and clients never take a seat;
  • you can set a limit on how many banks each covered client can connect;
  • during your trial, covered clients can hold up to 5 bank connections in total.

When your quota is full, add bank connections from billing. A covered client who later wants to pay for themselves can take the workspace over with no reconnect: see Hand a client over.

Your own banks#

Advisor features are free, but your own bank connections are not. Connecting your own banks needs a paid plan, the same as for anyone else.
