Your budgeting app is one stop. Not the whole story.

Questions, answered.

Do I need a SimpleFIN Bridge subscription?

No. BankSync is the SimpleFIN server, and SimpleFIN access is included on every BankSync plan, including Free. Paste the BankSync token where the app asks for a SimpleFIN token.

How do I connect Firefly III to BankSync?

In BankSync, open Settings, Developers, SimpleFIN and create an access. Copy the setup token, then in Firefly III: Firefly III data importer, SimpleFIN, Paste the setup token, Pick accounts, run the import.

Can I limit which accounts Firefly III sees?

Yes. Choose accounts when you create the access, and change the list later without re-linking. The app sees the new list on its next sync.

What if a setup token leaks?

Rotate the access. That issues a new setup token and immediately stops the credentials the app holds. Revoke ends the access for good. An unused token also expires after 7 days.

Does Firefly III need a CSV export?

No. The Firefly III data importer reads SimpleFIN directly, so it imports transactions and balances from every account in scope without exports.
