Your net worth today, and two years of it by class.

Overview

Net Worth adds up everything you own and everything you owe, across every bank, card, loan, mortgage and investment you connect and the assets you value by hand, and draws how it has changed.

What you see

  • Your net worth today against the end of last month and a year ago, with what you own and owe.
  • Your net worth over time: two years of month ends by class, from day one, with what you owe below the line.
  • Where it sits, month by month rises and falls, and your record: the high, how far below it you are, your best and worst months.
  • Accounts and Other assets, each with its value.

Set up in five minutes

  1. Pick your bank: every account — checking, savings, cards, loans, mortgage and investments. You can connect a bank right there in the install.
  2. Install. BankSync sets up Accounts, Balance history, Other assets and your Transactions, with a balance sync each morning.
  3. In Other assets, set a value for your home, car or retirement fund (the Update a value form is quickest), or leave one blank.
  4. Switch on the monthly note if you would like your net worth on the 1st, with a nudge for any asset without a value.

Good to know

  • History before you install is rebuilt from transactions: an account whose value moves without them (an investment, a property) counts at today’s value until Balance history has its month ends.
  • Other assets count at their value today in every month of the history.
  • An account’s class is read from its type and name. Totals add the currency most of your money is in; an account in another currency is listed under Accounts in its own currency, not added.
  • How far back the history reaches depends on your bank: often a year or two.
  • The monthly note arrives on the 1st at 08:00 your time, and only after you switch it on.
