Everything your workspace has built lives in one workspace tree: banks, feeds, tables, dashboards, automations, mailboxes, widgets, enrichments, integrations and portals, in folders you name and arrange. The tree is the same on every page, so the folder you were working in is still open when you move from a feed to the dashboard it fills. Tabs stay exactly where they are; the tree is how you group things, and the tabs are how you jump to a kind.
Rolling out
Open the tree#
Press the panel button at the left of the tabs, or press [ on any page. The tree remembers
whether it was open for each workspace. On a phone the button opens the tree as a drawer, and the
drawer closes as soon as you open something from it.
Each row shows its icon, its name and, where it needs you, its state in words: a feed that Needs reconnect or was Paused, an automation that is off, a mailbox holding mail, a bank whose connection needs signing in again. A lock means only some people can open it.
When someone else changes the tree — a new folder, a move, a rename — your tree catches up within about half a minute, or as soon as you come back to the tab. Right-click a row (or use its menu) to rename it or choose its icon.
Create something in a folder#
Choose New at the top of the tree, or New … here from a folder's menu. Choices are grouped:
| Group | Choices |
|---|---|
| Connect | Connect a bank…, Connect an integration…, Mailbox |
| Build | Feed, Automation, Enrichment |
| Present | Dashboard, Widget, Table |
| Share | Portal |
A table, an automation or a mailbox appears straight away with its name ready to type. The others open their usual setup, and a New bank… (or feed, dashboard and so on) row waits in the folder while you finish. When the setup completes, the new item lands in that folder, even if a bank's sign-in happened in another window. Close the setup without finishing and the waiting row goes away. If the setup takes longer than an hour, the item goes to its kind's default folder instead, and the tree tells you.
A choice you cannot use right now stays in the menu with the reason, for example Your plan includes 5 feeds · Upgrade, or Needs a feed · Create one.
Move and arrange#
- Drag a row onto a folder or between rows. On a phone, press and hold a row to drag it, or use Move to… from its menu.
- Keyboard: arrow keys move between rows,
Alt+↑/↓moves a row among its neighbours,F2renames, andShift+↑/↓selects several. - Several at once:
Cmd/Ctrl-click orShift-click rows, then Move to… or Move to trash from the bar above the tree. One Undo puts them all back.
Every move offers Undo for a few seconds. If moving an item into a folder changes who can open it, BankSync asks first and says how many people would gain or lose access.
Once your workspace uses the tree, each page's own list is sorted by name: the order you choose lives in the tree.
Share a folder or an item#
Choose Share… from any folder's or item's menu. Everything starts out open to the whole workspace, and a folder's access passes down to what is inside it.
- Same as the folder above keeps it in step with its folder.
- Only the people listed restricts it: add people, a group or a role, each with Can view, Can edit or Full access. Full access adds sharing and Delete forever.
- Roles still apply: a Viewer given Can edit can only view, and the dialog says so.
- Workspace admins and owners can always open everything.
- Sharing a dashboard shares what its widgets show, including data from sources the people you add cannot open themselves.
A dashboard's Publish dialog and a widget's Share tab now only manage public links; who in the workspace can open them is set with Share….
Groups#
Admins and owners create groups under Settings → Members → Groups, then share with the group instead of one person at a time. Open a group there to see its members, add or remove people, or rename it. Deleting a group that is the only access on some items warns you first: those items become visible to admins and owners only.
Trash#
Everything you move to trash goes to one Trash at the bottom of the tree, kept for 30 days. Each entry says who moved it there, when, and how many days are left. Filter it by kind, then Restore an item to its folder (or to the top level if that folder is gone). People with full access can Delete forever.
Moving a folder to trash together with what is inside it is one trash action: its Undo puts the folder and everything that went with it back together.
- Moving something to trash tells you what will pause until you restore it, for example the feeds that send to an integration.
- A widget that a dashboard still shows cannot go to trash until it is removed from the dashboard.
- Restoring checks your plan's limits again.
- Banks keep their own Remove and Reactivate, and are not in Trash.
Opening an item that is in trash shows In trash · 12 days left · Restore.
