Trip & Event Budget

Trip & Event Budget tells you what a trip, a wedding or a weekend away is costing as it happens, with nothing to tag: bookings ahead and spending on the day are picked out of your bank by what they are and when.

What you see

• This trip: its budget, spent, left, a day, and how many days.
• Day by day against the budget, and on what.
• Biggest costs, every trip against its budget, and budget and spent trip by trip.

Set up in two minutes

1. Pick your bank: the cards and accounts you travel with. You can connect a bank right there in the install.
2. Install. BankSync sets up Trips, your Categories and Transactions (shared with Money Map and Monthly Budget), a sync each morning and the dashboard.
3. In Trips, give each trip its dates and budget. Flights and hotels booked ahead count, and everything you spend while away.
4. Switch on the note if you would like what a trip cost the day after it ends.

Good to know

• Bookings count when their category is Travel, from 120 days before a trip to 45 days after; anything else counts only during the trip's dates.
• Bills, saving and moving money never count, even paid while away.
• A purchase counts for one trip only: where two trips overlap, the one that started last.
• A trip longer than 435 days counts its first 435.
• A purchase on a card you have not connected is not counted.
• The note arrives the day after a trip ends, at 09:00 your time, and only after you switch it on.
