ChatGPT & Australian bank data
Connect Australian (CDR) bank data to ChatGPT through BankSync's MCP server, and ask about it in plain English.
BankSync fetches your Australian bank data through the regulated Consumer Data Right and exposes it to ChatGPT as MCP tools. Ask about transactions and balances in plain English; the same rows can also land in Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable or Excel.
Three steps to get started.
- 01
Connect your Australian bank
Pick your bank and approve read-only access on its own Consumer Data Right consent screen.
- 02
Add BankSync to ChatGPT
In ChatGPT settings, add BankSync as a connector using the BankSync MCP server address.
- 03
Sign in and ask
Approve access to your workspace, then ask about spending, balances or a single transaction.
Consumer Data Right, in short.
- Regulator
- ACCC & Treasury
- How it works
- Australia's Consumer Data Right (CDR) is the regulated open banking framework letting you securely share your bank data with accredited recipients. BankSync routes through Fiskil, an accredited Data Recipient (ADR).
- Connection
- Routed via Fiskil (Accredited Data Recipient, ADRBNK000246).
Questions, answered.
Can I use ChatGPT with Australian bank data?
Yes. Connect your Australian bank to BankSync through the Consumer Data Right, add BankSync as a connector in ChatGPT, sign in, and ask about your transactions and balances in plain English.
How does ChatGPT sign in to BankSync?
ChatGPT connectors use OAuth. When you add BankSync in ChatGPT, it asks you to sign in to BankSync and approve access to one workspace. You can revoke it any time.
Is my Australian bank data safe when used with ChatGPT?
BankSync connects through the regulated Consumer Data Right, so your banking credentials never leave your bank. ChatGPT only sees what you've authorised, it cannot move money, and you can withdraw consent from your bank or from BankSync at any time.
Which ChatGPT plans support connectors?
Connectors to custom MCP servers need a ChatGPT plan that supports them (Plus, Pro, Business or Enterprise) with developer mode turned on.
