Hand a portal over to your client
Give a client the portal you set up for them: they pay for it themselves, keep every bank and feed, and you keep working in it.

When a client wants to own the portal you set up for them, hand it over. They pay for it themselves, everything in it stays as it is — banks, feeds, tables and history — and your firm keeps working in it.
Offer it#
- Open the portal from your Clients page and go to its Access tab.
- Under Hand over to your client, choose the client who will own it and select Offer. They need to have joined the portal and confirmed sharing with your firm.
Only owners and admins of your firm can offer a portal. A portal you keep for your firm's own entities isn't handed over.
The offer is refused, with the reason, when:
- a feed in your own workspace reads this portal's banks. Remove it first: it would stop once the portal is no longer yours;
- an Australian bank in the portal was connected by someone other than the client you're offering it to;
- your firm is below Professional and already works with three clients who pay for themselves;
- the plan your client picks can't hold the portal's banks, feeds, destinations, tables or people.
Your client accepts#
Your client sees the offer when they open the portal and chooses a plan. They pay as themselves, with no free trial, because the workspace is already in use. As soon as their subscription starts:
- the workspace is theirs, and it stops counting towards your plan;
- their bank connections keep working, with no reconnect;
- your firm's staff keep access, shown to your client as staff of your firm. Your client can change that role or stop sharing at any time.
Either of you can withdraw the offer (Withdraw offer) before your client pays. Once a payment is under way or their subscription is live, the offer can't be withdrawn or replaced.
After the handover BankSync emails you what changed: API keys your firm created in the portal stop working, YNAB destinations your firm connected move to the trash (paused, and restorable), and any other destinations your firm may have connected are listed for you to check.
Deleting your firm's workspace#
You can't delete your workspace while a portal has clients or a client shares their own workspace with you. Hand those portals over or remove the clients first, so nobody loses their data.
