Chase and personal API access
Chase does expose an aggregation API built on the FDX standard, but only to authorised data recipients that have signed data-access agreements with the bank. Individual customers do not get keys for it.
What customers do get is control: Chase lists the apps you have connected under “Linked apps and websites”, where you can review and remove them.
You sign in on Chase’s own screen and approve access; the connection runs through Plaid, and BankSync never sees your password. Your key reads the data back as JSON.
What you get in United States
- Data
- Transactions, balances, investment holdings, investment trades, and loan balances. Read-only.
- History
- Up to 2 years on the first sync.
- Consent
- Does not expire. Disconnect any time.
- Framework
- CFPB §1033 Open Banking · Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)
- Provider
- Connections run through Plaid. CFPB §1033 compliance dates were stayed in October 2025, so access today runs on the bank’s and the provider’s data-sharing agreements.
How it works
- 1
Connect your own bank
Sign up, then connect Chase through your bank's own consent screen.
- 2
Create an API key
Workspace › Developers. Give it only the scopes it needs; revoke it any time.
banks:read - 3
Make your first call
Read transactions, balances, investment holdings, investment trades, and loan balances as JSON with one GET request and your key in the X-API-Key header.
- 4
Or ask an AI agent
Point Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at the MCP server and ask questions about the same data.

Frequently asked questions
Does Chase offer a personal API?
Not to individuals. Chase’s FDX aggregation API is for authorised data recipients with data-access agreements. Your own accounts come through a Plaid-connected OAuth login, which is what BankSync uses, and the connection shows under “Linked apps and websites” at Chase.
What data can I read from my Chase accounts?
Transactions, balances, investment holdings, investment trades, and loan balances, read-only, as JSON. The first sync reaches back up to 2 years of transactions, depending on how much Chase makes available.
How long does consent last?
No scheduled expiry: a US connection does not expire. Chase may occasionally ask you to sign in again (a new device check or a password change); the app asks you to reconnect when that happens. You can disconnect at any time.
Is the API read-only?
Yes. The connection your bank grants is read-only: BankSync can read account data, and it cannot move money, make payments or change anything at your bank. Your API key reads the same data, scoped to the permissions you give it.
Can I use my Chase data with Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. The same read-only data is available over BankSync’s MCP server: point Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at it and ask about your Chase transactions in plain English. It is included from the Standard plan.
What about Chase business accounts?
Which business and commercial accounts Chase shares varies, so we do not promise them here. Contact support with your account type before you rely on it, and we will tell you what connects.
Other US banks
The same key reads every bank you connect.
