When your advisor sends you a request, or invites you into a workspace they cover for you, everything you connect there is visible to them. Before you join, BankSync asks you to confirm that you are happy to share with them. That is the only extra step: connecting a bank still shows your bank's usual consent screen.

## Confirming when you join

The request or invitation page names your advisor and explains what they will see. On a request, entering the code from your email confirms sharing. On an invitation, choosing **I agree, continue** joins the workspace and records your confirmation: which advisor, when, and the wording you were shown.

If you joined before this step existed, BankSync asks you the next time you open the workspace. You can choose **Not now** and keep using it, but your advisor can't receive data from Australian banks you connect there until you confirm.

## Seeing who you share with

Open **Settings › Sharing** in the workspace. It lists the advisor you share with and since when. If you still need to confirm, the confirmation is there too.

## Stopping sharing

On **Settings › Sharing**, choose **Stop sharing** next to the advisor and confirm. The Australian bank connections you made there end straight away, so your advisor stops receiving their data. Anything they already copied into their own files stays with them.

In a workspace your advisor covers, other banks you connected stay in that workspace, because it belongs to your advisor. If you don't want them to see those banks, remove them from **Banks** before you stop sharing. Leaving the workspace, or being removed from it, stops sharing in the same way.

You can share again later by confirming from the same page, then reconnecting.

> **Australian banks:** Banks connected through Australia's Consumer Data Right can be shared with an advisor. Only you can connect them, after confirming sharing, and your advisor receives their data only while your confirmation is in force. One person at your business connects all of a covered workspace's Australian banks.

## For advisors

You can't confirm on a client's behalf. If a feed or sync says the client hasn't confirmed sharing, ask them to open the workspace and confirm. Clients never use one of your seats. When a client stops sharing, your workspace's owner gets an email.

A client who answers a request confirms sharing by entering the code from the email, and can stop sharing from the request page. If your client has their own BankSync workspace, see [Share your workspace with your advisor](/docs/advisors/share-with-your-advisor).
