If you have your own BankSync workspace, you can let your advisor work in it. You keep ownership and keep paying for it. Their staff see it in their own client list, with the role you choose, and never use one of your seats.

## Share with your advisor

1. Open **Settings › Advisor access** and choose **Share with a firm**.
2. Enter your advisor's firm code (they'll find it on their **Clients** page) or their email.
3. Choose **Editor** (can connect banks, build feeds and edit) or **Viewer** (can see everything, change nothing).
4. Confirm. BankSync names the advisor before you share. Your advisor then accepts.

If your advisor isn't on BankSync yet, they get an invitation to a free advisor workspace. Once they accept, you confirm them by name before they see anything.

You can share with up to 3 advisors, for example a bookkeeper and a tax agent. The first is your **lead**, listed first wherever you and your advisors see who you share with. Choose **Make lead firm** to change it at any time.

Sharing is free on every plan, Free included. Your advisor's staff never use one of your seats, and your plan's bank connections are yours alone.

## When your advisor asks first

If your advisor asks for access, you get an email. Open **Settings › Advisor access** in the workspace you want to share and choose **Approve** on their request (or **Decline**). You choose the role and confirm the advisor by name.

## Stop sharing

Choose **Stop access** next to the advisor and confirm. Their staff lose access straight away, in the app and through any key or agent. Your banks stay connected, and anything already in their own files stays with them. A share the advisor hasn't accepted yet can be cancelled the same way.

## For advisors

- Your **Clients** page lists every client under one search and status filter, each marked **Client pays** or **You cover**. Clients who pay share their own workspace with you; clients you cover use your plan's bank quota.
- **Ask a client for access** emails a client who already has a workspace. They approve it from **Settings › Advisor access**, choosing your role. For a client who isn't on BankSync yet, add them and send a request instead: see [Ask a client for bank data and answers](/docs/advisors/client-requests).
- Shared clients' banks also appear in your own **Banks** list, marked with the client's name. They're read-only there: the client manages them in their workspace.
- Your **firm code** and **Team access** are at the top of the page. Clients enter the code to share with you; Team access chooses which staff work on which clients. Owners and admins work on every client.
- Removing someone from your team removes their access to every client straight away.
- You can work with any number of shared clients on every plan, and see each client's connection health.
- The client list, with who pays for each client, is also available to scripts as `GET /v1/clients` and to AI agents as the `list_clients` tool. Sharing, approving and stopping access stay in the app.
- Your staff can't connect new destinations, create API keys, or see billing in a client's workspace; they use the destinations the client has connected.

> **Australian banks:** Your advisor can't connect your Australian bank for you. Connect it yourself; your advisor sees it while you share.
